Just a Stitch or Two....

Friday, May 18, 2012

Well, it has been a couple of weeks since my last post.  I have been a little busy with two birthdays, and Mother's Day.  My middle son turned 30 on May 2.  That makes me feel old
lol.  My hubby and I took him and his fiance out for dinner.  We had a good time and he gave me my early mothers day present.  It is such a cute little necklace.  I just love this.

Then I went and got my grandson, Justin, and took him to get his birthday gift and took him out to eat.  He is our oldest grandchild, and he is now 13.  I don't get much time with him, but I always enjoy seeing him.

He loves Pokamon cards, and that's what he chose for me to get him.

On Saturday, my dear husband decided he was going to buy a pickup truck.  He is always needing a truck, and so I finally agreed to get one.

It's a 2004 Chevy Z71.  He loves it.  It's a little high for short me to get into, but he is going to install either a step or running boards.  I am glad he finally got what he wanted.  Since we were there we looked into trading in our SUV for something more economical, and found this cute little Aveo that I really liked.

The kids think I am crazy to get a yellow car, but I really like it.  My DH said we can call it Bumblebee, like the car in Transformers, but this is not a muscle car, so I think it should be Honeybee, lol.

And when I got home I had flowers that had been delivered for me for Mother's Day from my step-daughter Emily.  They were so pretty.

It was a surprise, and it really made my day.  She is such a sweet daughter.
Then yesterday my oldest son came over and brought me my Mother's Day gift from
him and his fiance.  I really made out this year.  I really didn't expect anything, and it really touched my heart.

And finally, to my stitching.  I have made some good progress on my Vierlanden Sampler.  I haven't stitched on anything else, but am starting to want to work on something different.  Next update you may see different pieces!  Well, thanks for wading through all my pictures, and hope to have a lot of progress to report next week.  Oh, and only one more week from this coming Sunday, and we will be going to the beach.  I will be sure to have lots of pictures of that.  Hugs and blessings.

Here is my focus piece.  I haven't made much more progress this past week on it, but hope to get a lot more done this week.

I am still trying to figure out this blog.  I did all separate posts, but it isn't just how I wanted it.  I guess I will figure it out in time.  Thanks for looking and leave a comment if you like!

I also have 4 little samplers I have done on 28 ct fabric, 1 over 1.  I really enjoyed stitching these! These are all about 2 or 3 inches tall.  I am always on the lookout for
cute little samplers to stitch over 1.
This one is Patchwork by Jan Houtman.  I am doing it with Vikki Clayton's silks.

I also decided to pull out a few more UFO's and show you what I will try to be finishing LOL.  These 2 are both Wiehenburg pieces.  The second one i am doing 1 over 1.
Hi everyone,

Hope you have had a good week, with lots of stitching.  I have had a couple of days that I didn't get to stitch, but I am making some progress on my WIP.  This week I read on one of
my groups someone was talking about The Rose of Sharon by Nora Corbett.  This is one of
my long standing UFO's, so I decided to pull her out and stitched on her a couple of days this week.  Here is a picture of her.
