Just a Stitch or Two....

Stitching and stuff

Well, here we go again with years since my last post.  I’m still doing a lot of stitching, and I’m really loving it.  Since I found Flosstube and the stitching Facebook groups, by WIP count has really exploded.  I think I’m possibly over 100 WIPS now!  That is just crazy, but I can’t seem to stop starting new projects.  There are just so many wonderful patterns I want to stitch.  I’m doing a bunch of SALS that I try to work on regularly, but I have way to many to keep up with them.

Here are a few of what I have been working on lately.

I have taken off about 4 years from stitching, but about a month ago the stitch bug bit me again.
I am really excited to be stitching again.  I am working on some of the pieces I was working on when
I stopped stitching, but have also added some new projects.

A lot has changed since I last stitched!  Now there is a whole community on YouTube dedicated to cross stitch.  It is the FlossTube community.  I am really loving watching all the videos, but they sure
are enabling me to want to buy more stitching stuff.  I also have found so many Facebook cross stitch groups.  Before all my groups were through Yahoo egroups, but I really like the Facebook groups
better.

I'll add pictures when I charge my camera.

Wow, I can't believe it has been 4 years since I last posted.  Life is going on and we have many more grandchildren.  I have canned many things since my post about canning, but because of some of the
children moving back here, I haven't had the room to put my dehydrator out.
I've not done any cross stitching for the past 4 years either.  I just don't know where the time went.

I have been reading much more, and really enjoying that.  I have loved to read since I was a preteen.  I would like to start updating this blog, but we will see how it goes.

I am sorry it has been so long since I have last updated!  I have gotten into my "I can do it later" mode.  Anyway, things have been going pretty well.  The weather has been very hot, but at least we have had rain.  I have been stitching some, but not as much as I would
like to.  Lately I have been doing some dehydrating, and getting ready to do some canning.  I have never canned before, so it should be an adventure.

I wish I had room for a garden, but even if  I could find some room, we have way to many trees to be able to get enough sun to grow anything.  I really enjoy putting up food for the future.  With the state of the world, and the droughts in the mid-west, I think it is
important to have food storage.

My birthday was July 12, and it was a quiet day.  I was a little sad that my kids didn't remember it, but I know how that is.  I am just so happy my hubby remembered.  He got me some beautiful flowers and told me to buy what I wanted.  I ordered some things from
123Stitch!  I'll show them to you when I get my order.

Here are the flowers my hubby got for me.  I love daisies, and these were just beautiful.  They lasted about 3 weeks, which I thought was pretty amazing.

I have been doing some stitching, but not every night.  I get sidetracked doing other things sometimes.  Here is my progress picture.  It is getting so big now it is hard to get it all in the picture.

Well, I hope everyone has a great week, and I will let you know how my canning and dehydrating and stitching goes this week.

Well, I finally have a stitchy update for you.  I have been trying to get my floss organized, so I haven't gotten as much stitching done as I would like.  Add on top of that, the disruption that a vacation does to your life, also cut down on my stitching time.  When I looked at the picture of my progress, I can see I have gotten quite a bit done.  I am about half way done with the sampler.  I am enjoying stitching this so much, but still would like to finish something.  I am trying to find something small to start to break up the monotony of stitching on one piece so long.  I just have so many to choose from, it is a hard decision!

Wow, I cant believe it has been so long since I have posted an update.  I haven't gotten much stitching done the past few weeks.  Our beach vacation ended up not being the best place for me to stitch.  I didn't feel comfortable taking it outside to stitch because of the salty air and humidity.  Inside, I didn't have good enough light to stitch.  So I only got a little done while we were at the beach.  I have been having a hard time getting back to my routine since I have been back too.  I have started stitching more the past couple of days.  I will post update pictures soon.  For now I will add some beach pictures.  Enjoy...

Well, it has been a couple of weeks since my last post.  I have been a little busy with two birthdays, and Mother's Day.  My middle son turned 30 on May 2.  That makes me feel old
lol.  My hubby and I took him and his fiance out for dinner.  We had a good time and he gave me my early mothers day present.  It is such a cute little necklace.  I just love this.

Then I went and got my grandson, Justin, and took him to get his birthday gift and took him out to eat.  He is our oldest grandchild, and he is now 13.  I don't get much time with him, but I always enjoy seeing him.

He loves Pokamon cards, and that's what he chose for me to get him.

On Saturday, my dear husband decided he was going to buy a pickup truck.  He is always needing a truck, and so I finally agreed to get one.

It's a 2004 Chevy Z71.  He loves it.  It's a little high for short me to get into, but he is going to install either a step or running boards.  I am glad he finally got what he wanted.  Since we were there we looked into trading in our SUV for something more economical, and found this cute little Aveo that I really liked.

The kids think I am crazy to get a yellow car, but I really like it.  My DH said we can call it Bumblebee, like the car in Transformers, but this is not a muscle car, so I think it should be Honeybee, lol.

And when I got home I had flowers that had been delivered for me for Mother's Day from my step-daughter Emily.  They were so pretty.

It was a surprise, and it really made my day.  She is such a sweet daughter.
Then yesterday my oldest son came over and brought me my Mother's Day gift from
him and his fiance.  I really made out this year.  I really didn't expect anything, and it really touched my heart.

And finally, to my stitching.  I have made some good progress on my Vierlanden Sampler.  I haven't stitched on anything else, but am starting to want to work on something different.  Next update you may see different pieces!  Well, thanks for wading through all my pictures, and hope to have a lot of progress to report next week.  Oh, and only one more week from this coming Sunday, and we will be going to the beach.  I will be sure to have lots of pictures of that.  Hugs and blessings.
